Upper urinary tract endoscopy: odd problems and their solutions
Abstract
This video contains two sections. The first movie shows a percutaneous resection of a papillary urothelial carcinoma of the renal pelvis in an aquired solitary kidney; it depicts the establishment of the tract, the exploration of the inner renal cavities and the complete resection of the tumor using a 24 Ch loop resectoscope.
The second part concerns a subtotal double ureteral system, distally merging at the uretero-vesical junction where it is obstructed by a 15 mm stone, surrounded by a heavy inflammatory response: the treatment entails a thorough incision of the diafragm between the two ureteral segments, the lithotripsy and the final placement of two double J stents.
