Abstract

The video shows the case of an intraparenchinmal renal tumor that is removed by robotic assisted laparoscopy
37 years old female patient was recognized to be affected by left renal tumor. 3 cm large tumor was located in medium part of the kidney; it was totally intraparenchimal and close to the renal ilum.
The video shows the main steps of the operation:
Incision of the left paracolic gutter and exposure of the renal lodge.
Identification of the ureter and of the gonadic vein and then of the renal pedicle. The left renal vein and artery are isolated. Gerota’s fascia is incised with a complete discover of the renal capsule. Intraoperative ultrasound scan identifies the totally intraparenchimal tumor . The renal artery is then clamped with a bull-dog clamp and dissection of the tumor is performed during warm ischemia. A Vycril 2/0 sliding clips renorraphy is performed. The bull-dog clamp is removed after 31 minutes of warm ischemia. The Gerota’s fascia is sutured. The specimen is retrieved into the endo-bag through the camera port. Operative time was 120 minutes.
No peri or postoperative complications occurred.
